Talking to AtIna
Besides typing, you can ask AtIna your questions with your voice. Hold the microphone button, speak and release it: AtIna turns what you said into text, sends it as a regular question and answers in the panel, just as if you had typed it.
How to use it
- Open AtIna. On a computer, open the AtIna panel; on a phone, tap Ask AtIna! in the menu. The microphone button is between the question box and the Send button.
- Hold the microphone button while you speak. The button turns red and the question box shows Listening… release to send; on a phone it also vibrates briefly. The first time, the browser asks for permission to use the microphone: allow it and press the button again.
- Release the button when you are done. You will see Transcribing… for a moment; then your question appears in the conversation and AtIna answers.
You can also use the keyboard: move the focus to the microphone button with Tab and hold the space bar while you speak. If you press Esc while speaking, the recording is discarded and nothing is sent.
AtIna answers out loud
When you ask by voice, AtIna also says the answer out loud, in one or two sentences with what matters most. Tables, charts and the full detail stay on screen. If you type the question, she answers with text only.
- To mute her, click the speaker button next to New Conversation. She stays muted in that browser until you click it again.
- To interrupt her, start speaking with the microphone, type another question or start a new conversation: she stops right away.
- To change her voice or speed, click the gear next to the speaker. In Voice you pick one of the available female voices and in Speed how fast she talks (1× is normal speed). Click Listen to hear a sample sentence before saving. The preference is yours only: it applies in all your companies and in any browser, and does not change other users' settings.
What you should know
- The question is sent exactly as AtIna understood it. If the transcription is wrong, you can type the question or say it again.
- Each voice question can last up to one minute; when that time is reached it is sent automatically.
- AtIna understands best the language your system is set to (Spanish or English).
- The audio is only used to turn it into text and is not stored. The conversation keeps the text of the question, just like when you type it.
- By voice you can ask for the same things as in writing, with your user's same permissions.
- If you ask by voice to create or change something (a quote, an order, an opportunity, a task or an e-mail), AtIna does not do it right away: it first shows you the data it understood and asks you to confirm. Answer "yes" (by voice or in writing) to have it done, or correct anything that is wrong. If you also see a card with the Confirm and Cancel buttons, you can answer with them too: the action runs exactly with the data on the card.
- Deleting or voiding information cannot be requested by voice: type it. See Querying and recording with AtIna.
Tips and common errors
Start speaking after you press the button and release it when you finish. If you release it right away you will see the message Hold the microphone button while you speak.
"The microphone could not be used". Check that the microphone is connected and that the browser has permission to use it (the lock or microphone icon in the address bar).
Can't see the microphone button? It is available in the Enterprise edition, when AtIna is enabled for your user group, and in browsers that can record audio (up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer or a phone). AtIna uses artificial intelligence: check important figures before making decisions.
