Enable Beta Features

Enable Beta Features is a catalog where you view and turn on, one at a time, the features AdmCloud is testing or rolling out on a limited basis before making them available to every company. Don't confuse it with the Enable Features screen (Configuration → Features), which controls Enterprise modules and behaviors that are already generally available based on your plan.

Module: System Administration Viewing the catalog: any logged-in user · Enabling a feature: company administrators only

What is it and what is it for?

AdmCloud sometimes rolls out new capabilities first in beta or limited-availability phase, instead of turning them on for every company right away. This screen is the catalog of those features that apply to your company: it lets you read what each one does and, if it interests you, turn it on so it starts working right away.

  • Dynamic catalog. What you see in this list can change over time and from one company to another, depending on which features AdmCloud is testing at a given moment.
  • Only turns on, never off. From this screen you can enable a feature; there's no button to disable it once it's on.
  • Confirmation required. Before enabling a feature, AdmCloud shows a confirmation dialog to avoid accidental activations.

Once a feature leaves its beta phase and AdmCloud releases it generally for every company, it disappears from this catalog: it no longer needs to be turned on here because it becomes permanently available (or, if it has its own switch, it's controlled from the matching screen, for example Enable Features).

How to turn on a feature step by step

  1. Open the Enable Beta Features screen. Any logged-in user in the company can open it and see the full catalog.
  2. Review each row in the catalog: the Group, Name and Description explain what the feature does. Read the description carefully before deciding whether to turn it on.
  3. Click Enable on the desired row. Only company administrators see this button active; other users see it but it's disabled.
  4. Confirm in the dialog that appears before the activation completes.
  5. The change applies immediately. The row switches to showing the Enabled label (or Enabled by {your email} if it recorded who activated it), without reloading the whole page.

What each row contains

Column What it shows
Group Groups related features together, to make them easier to find in the catalog.
Name The feature's short name.
Description An explanation of what turning on the feature does; it can span several lines.
Status / Action Shows the Enabled label (or Enabled by the email of whoever activated it) if it's already on for your company; otherwise it shows the Enable button, active only for administrators.

Who can view and enable each feature

  • Viewing the catalog: any logged-in user in the company can open this screen and see the full list of features that apply to their account.
  • Enabling a feature: only users whose User Group has the administrator flag can click Enable. For other users, the button shows up but stays disabled.
  • Which features show up: only features AdmCloud hasn't released generally for every company yet are listed. Among those, regular companies only see features flagged as enableable by administrators; AdmCloud's own demo or internal accounts see the full catalog, including features not yet ready for self-service, so they can be shown to a prospect.

Validations when enabling a feature

  • Your session must have an active company; without it, AdmCloud won't let you enable any feature.
  • You must be a company administrator (administrator flag on your User Group); if you aren't, the system rejects the activation even if you try to force the button.
  • The feature you're trying to enable must exist in the catalog; if it no longer does, AdmCloud shows an error message (this is uncommon and usually only happens if the screen is out of date).
  • There's no action to disable a feature you already enabled from this screen: once turned on, it stays on for your company.

Availability, plan and modules

  • This screen is available on every plan: any logged-in user can view it.
  • The button to enable a feature only works for company administrators.
  • The catalog of features shown doesn't depend on your plan, but on which features AdmCloud has put in beta phase and flagged as enableable by administrators for your account; that's why the catalog can look different from one company to another.

Tips and common pitfalls

💡

Don't enable a feature just out of curiosity. Read the row's Description before clicking Enable; if you're unsure of its effect, contact AdmCloud support before turning it on.

ℹ️

Looking to enable profit centers, installments, budgeting or other general system features? Those are managed on the Enable Features screen (Configuration → Features), not here. This screen is only for beta or limited-availability features.

⚠️

Once enabled, there's no button to turn it back off from here. If you need to revert a feature you turned on by mistake, contact AdmCloud support.
