AdmCloud MCP (Claude, Codex and other assistants)
The AdmCloud MCP connects your favorite artificial intelligence assistant (Claude, Codex or any other MCP-compatible client) to your company in AdmCloud. Once connected, you can ask it in plain language about your sales, balances, receivables or stock and, if your user group allows it, ask it to create or change customers, items, invoices, payments and other records, without opening the AdmCloud screens.
What is it and what is it for?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools from other systems. AdmCloud publishes an MCP server at https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp with more than 150 tools over your company's data. Your assistant decides which tool to use based on what you ask, runs it as your user and answers with the result.
- Look up: sales by month, customer, item or sales rep; income statement, balance sheet and trial balance; bank, customer and vendor balances; receivables and payables aging; stock and items to reorder; documents pending authorization; who is out today, and much more.
- Record: customers, vendors, contacts, items, services, kits, projects, quotes, sales orders, invoices, cash sales, credit memos, vendor bills, purchase orders, payments, deposits, transfers, service requests and time off requests.
- Combine: since the assistant can use several tools in a single answer, you can ask for analysis that crosses information ("compare this year's sales with last year's and tell me which customers dropped the most").
How is it different from AtIna? AtIna is the assistant that lives inside AdmCloud. The MCP brings AdmCloud to your assistant: you use it from Claude, Codex or another app, alongside the rest of your tools (email, documents, spreadsheets), with the AI model you choose.
How to turn it on
There is nothing to enable on the company: any AdmCloud user can connect their assistant with their own e-mail and password. What the administrator does control is whether the MCP may change data (see the next section).
- Add the connector in your assistant with the address https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp (the steps for Claude and Codex are below).
- Sign in. The assistant opens the AdmCloud sign-in page in your browser. Use the same e-mail and password you use in AdmCloud. The same rules apply: the e-mail must be confirmed, the password must not be expired and the user must not be blocked.
- Pick the company and the user group. If you can access a single company and that company has a single user group for you, both are picked automatically. Otherwise, ask the assistant, for example: "Which companies can I access?" and then "Use the company Northern Trading with the Sales group".
- Start asking. The chosen company and group are remembered for your next conversations until you change them.
The selected user group defines the scope the MCP works with, just like in AdmCloud: the group's subsidiary and location and, if the group can only see its own records, sales, customer and sales document lookups are limited to the user's own.
Allowing the MCP to add, edit or delete (User Groups)
By default the MCP can only read. For it to change data, an administrator must go to System Administration > User Groups, edit the group and check one or both options at the end of the header:
| Option | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Allow MCP to add and edit data | The tools that create or modify records: creating customers, vendors, items, invoices, payments, projects, etc.; updating their data; changing the status of a service request and registering time off requests. |
| Allow MCP to delete data | The tools that delete records or documents. Deletions cannot be undone. |
- It is evaluated with the group the MCP is working with, not with all of the user's groups. If the user belongs to two groups and only one has the option checked, the MCP can write only while that group is selected.
- It applies to every group, including the Admin group. Being an administrator grants every privilege inside AdmCloud, but it does not grant the MCP write access: the options must also be checked on the Admin group if you want it.
- They are independent: you can allow adding and editing without allowing deletes, which is the recommended combination for most groups.
- The change takes effect immediately: once you check or uncheck an option, the assistant's next action already uses the new permission, without reconnecting.
- If the MCP tries to change something without permission, the action is rejected and the assistant tells you which option the administrator must check. Nothing is modified.
- Without a selected user group, the MCP cannot write.

Setting it up in Claude
Custom connectors work in Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Cowork, on the Free (a single custom connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
Pro and Max plans (or Free)
- In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
- Click + Add and choose Add custom connector.
- Type a name (for example, AdmCloud) and the URL https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp. Click Continue.
- Keep the authentication Claude detects (OAuth) and click Add. When connecting, the AdmCloud sign-in page opens: sign in with your e-mail and password.
Team and Enterprise plans
- An owner or administrator of the Claude organization adds the connector in Organization settings > Connectors > Add > Custom > Web, with the same URL.
- Each person then goes to Customize > Connectors, finds AdmCloud and clicks Connect to sign in with their own AdmCloud user.
Using it in a conversation
Click the + button at the lower left of the message box, open Connectors and turn AdmCloud on. Claude may ask you to approve each tool the first time it uses it; we recommend keeping that approval for the tools that create, edit or delete.
Claude Code
In the terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http admcloud https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp
Then, inside Claude Code, type /mcp, choose admcloud and finish signing in in the browser.
Setting it up in Codex
The Codex desktop app, command line (CLI) and editor extension share the same configuration, so adding it once is enough.
From the command line
- Add the server:
codex mcp add admcloud --url https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp - Sign in (the browser opens with the AdmCloud page):
codex mcp login admcloud
From the configuration file
If you prefer to edit the configuration by hand, add this to ~/.codex/config.toml and then run codex mcp login admcloud:
[mcp_servers.admcloud]
url = "https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp"
From the app or the editor extension
Add an MCP server with the same URL from the MCP settings and click Authenticate when you are asked to sign in.
Other assistants
Any app that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP transport) with OAuth sign-in can connect with the same URL, https://mcp.admcloud.net/mcp. Client registration is automatic: you don't need to request any application id or key.

What you should know
- Everything is logged under your user. What the MCP creates, changes or deletes appears in the AdmCloud audit log under your name, just as if you had done it from the screen.
- The same AdmCloud validations apply. Fiscal numbering, taxes, prices and linked documents are validated just like in the system. For example, you cannot delete a customer that has transactions or an invoice that already has payments applied.
- Documents are created with a single line. The tools that create quotes, sales orders, invoices, credit memos, vendor bills and purchase orders record one item with its quantity. For multi-line documents, create it with the MCP and complete it in AdmCloud, or enter it directly on the screen.
- Customer and vendor payments are recorded as advances, without applying them to specific invoices. Applying them to invoices is done in AdmCloud.
- Links to AdmCloud: the documents the assistant finds (invoices, orders, payments, opportunities) come with their link. Opening it takes you to that document in AdmCloud, with your browser session.
- Your session lasts up to 30 days. After that, or if you disconnect the connector, the assistant asks you to sign in again.
- SQL for Custom Reports: the assistant reads your company's data dictionary (tables, fields, relations and your custom fields) to write the SQL, and validates it against your database without running it. The MCP does not create the report: paste the SQL in Custom Reports and create there the filters the assistant tells you. Requires the "Customization" permission of the user group.
- Unexpected errors: if a tool fails because of a technical problem (not a system rule), the assistant shows you a reference like MCP-20261013-143512-9F2A31 and the AdmCloud team is notified automatically. If you contact support, mention that reference.
- AI can make mistakes. Check important figures before making decisions and, before approving an action that creates, edits or deletes, confirm the data (customer, item, amount, date) is correct. Deletions cannot be undone.
Tips and common errors
Start by asking "which company and group am I in?". That way you confirm which company the assistant will work on before asking for anything, especially if you can access several companies.
Use names as they appear in AdmCloud. The MCP looks up customers, items and accounts by name or code. If there are several matches, the assistant shows you the options so you can choose.
"The MCP is not allowed to add or edit information". The user group you are working with doesn't have Allow MCP to add and edit data (or the delete option) checked. Ask an administrator to check it in User Groups, or switch to another group that has it: "use the Accounting group".
"No company is selected". You can access several companies and haven't picked one yet. Ask the assistant to show your companies and pick the one you want to use.
I can't sign in. The MCP sign-in uses your same AdmCloud user. If your password expired, you locked it with failed attempts or your user is blocked, fix it first by signing in to AdmCloud (or with the change password option) and then connect the assistant again.
