Shipment Route Link
The Shipment Route Link is a public page (no login required) that you can share with a Trip's carrier or driver, so they can see, on a map and in a table, every delivery stop assigned to them. AdmCloud generates this link automatically for each Trip; you just copy it and send it through whichever channel you prefer (WhatsApp, email, SMS).
What is it and what is it for?
When you plan a Trip in the Transportation Management (TMS) module, you assign it a vehicle/carrier and link the sales or dispatch documents that need to be delivered on that route (invoices, orders or other linkable documents). The Shipment Route Link takes that information and automatically builds a read-only page, meant to be opened by the driver or the carrier company from their phone, with no need for an AdmCloud user or password.
On that page the driver sees the list of documents to deliver (document, customer and address), a direct Google Maps link for each address, and an interactive map with a marker for every stop. This lets the carrier organize their route without having to call the office to ask for addresses one by one.
How to use it
- Prepare the Trip. From the Trips screen (Transportation Management module), create or open the trip, assign it the carrier company (with its equipment/vehicle) and link the sales or dispatch documents that will be delivered on that route.
- Copy the link. On the Trip's detail, go to the Shareable Link tab and copy the address shown there. That link includes your company's and the trip's identifiers, and doesn't require logging in to open.
- Send it to the carrier. Share the link through whatever channel you normally use with your driver or carrier company (WhatsApp, email, SMS, etc.).
- The carrier opens it from their phone. They'll see your company's name, the name of the assigned carrier company, a table with each document and delivery address, and a map with every stop. Tapping a point on the map shows a box with the matching document and customer.
Information shown on the page
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Company name | Your company's name, so the carrier can confirm they're looking at the right route. |
| Carrier | The name of the carrier company or person assigned to the Trip. |
| Document list | Every document linked to the Trip, with its number, date, customer and delivery address (address, address 2 and city). |
| Google Maps link | A link for each stop that opens the route directly in Google Maps, using the coordinates registered on the customer's shipping address. |
| Interactive map | A Google map with a marker (circle) for each stop; clicking a marker shows the matching document and customer. |
Conditions for the link to work
- The company must be active: if your company is closed, the link shows an error message instead of the route.
- The Trip must exist and have a carrier company assigned (a relationship with operation type "Transportation") with its equipment/vehicle linked; if either is missing, the link shows an error message stating what's missing.
- The link expires 10 days after the Trip's date. Past that point it stops showing the information, and you need to generate or share a more recent one (for example, by creating a new Trip or checking the existing one's date).
- Up to 1,000 documents are shown per Trip. If the trip has more, the page flags it with a notice and only displays the first 1,000 in the table and the map.
- Addresses with no coordinates (latitude/longitude) registered still appear in the table but are placed at point 0,0 on the map; check that your customers' addresses have their coordinates loaded so the map is accurate.
Availability
- The Trips module, and therefore the Shipment Route Link, is only available on the Enterprise plan with the add-on Transportation Management (TMS) module active in your company's configuration.
- Unlike the rest of AdmCloud's screens, this page doesn't require logging in: it's public to anyone who has the exact link, so you can share it directly with external carriers who don't have a user in the system.
Tips and common pitfalls
Share it the same day as the Trip. Since the link expires 10 days after the Trip's date, it's best to send it to the carrier close to the actual delivery date so it doesn't expire ahead of time.
"The trip doesn't have a carrier company" or "the equipment isn't assigned". Go back to the Trip's detail and check that it has a carrier company linked (a Transportation-type relationship) and that a piece of equipment or vehicle has been assigned to that relationship.
"The link expired". This message shows up when more than 10 days have passed since the Trip's date. Check the document's date or coordinate with your team to generate a new Trip if the delivery is still pending.
