Accounting Firm

This configuration screen brings together two things related to your accounting: linking your company with the external accounting firm (your accountant or accounting advisor) that provides you services, and the company data that gets printed on the header of your financial statements.

Module: System Administration Requires the "Configuration" permission

What is it and what is it for?

AdmCloud keeps a directory of partner accounting firms: accounting practices that are part of AdmCloud's partner network and provide accounting services to companies that use the system. From this screen you can search for and link your company to the accounting firm that serves you; once linked, that firm gets access to your company from its own accountant portal to follow up on your bookkeeping and assign you tasks.

This same screen also holds your company's data (name, address) that AdmCloud uses as the header when printing your financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement, Trial Balance, etc.). Although these are two separate functions, they are grouped here because both describe your company's formal accounting identity.

How to use it

  1. Link your accounting firm (optional). In the Accounting Firm field, type your accounting practice's name and pick it from the list that appears; the directory only shows firms that belong to AdmCloud's partner network. If your accounting firm doesn't show up in the list, it likely isn't part of that network yet.
  2. Fill in the data for your financial statements. Complete the Company Name and the address (Address 1, Address 2, City, State and Postal Code) exactly as you want them to appear printed on your accounting reports.
  3. Save your changes. Use the Save button at the top or bottom of the screen. Both sections (accounting firm and financial-statement data) are saved together with the same button.

Key fields

Field What it's for
Accounting FirmThe AdmCloud partner accounting firm that follows up on your accounting. It's optional; as you type, the field searches only among active firms in the partner network. Once linked, that firm can see your company and assign you tasks from its own accountant portal.
Company NameYour company's name, printed on the header of your financial statements.
Address 1 / Address 2Your company's address lines, printed on the header of your financial statements.
City / State / Postal CodeThe rest of your company's location data, also printed on the header of your financial statements.

Validations when saving

  • None of the name or address fields is required: you can leave them blank if you don't want that information included on your financial statements.
  • The chosen accounting firm must exist and be active in AdmCloud's partner network; trying to link a firm that is no longer active is rejected.
  • If you clear the Accounting Firm field and save, the existing link is removed (your company is no longer associated with that firm).

Availability and permissions

  • Access to this screen is controlled by the "Configuration" permission of the user group (System Administration module).
  • The Accounting Firm search directory only includes practices internally flagged as accounting-type partners in the AdmCloud network; it isn't a directory open to any company.

Tips and common pitfalls

ℹ️

What's the point of linking an Accounting Firm? Once linked, your external accountant gains visibility into your company from their own portal, letting them follow up on and assign you accounting-related tasks without you having to share your AdmCloud login credentials with them.

⚠️

I can't find my accounting firm in the list. Only practices that are already part of AdmCloud's accounting partner network show up. If your accountant isn't listed, contact us so they can register as a partner before you try to link them here.

💡

Review this data before printing your financial statements. The name and address configured here appear on the header of reports such as the Balance Sheet or the Profit & Loss statement, so keep them up to date if your company changes address.
