Emission Points

An Emission Point identifies the branch, location or channel your company issues documents from — for example "Head Office", "North Branch" or "Online Store". This catalog is the piece that connects your fiscal numbering, your users and your sales channels to the actual place that issued each document.

Module: System Administration (Fiscal Configuration) Requires the "Configuration" (SA_CONFIG) permission on your user group

What it is and what it's for

When a company issues documents from more than one place (several branches, a counter plus an online store, or different points of sale), it needs to know, for each document, where it was issued from. The Emission Points catalog solves that: you first register each point with a name and, optionally, a code; that point is then used across AdmCloud to:

  • Link a Fiscal Sequence (document numbering, such as the NCF in the Dominican Republic) to a specific emission point.
  • Assign a default emission point to a user (employee/relationship), so their new documents come with it preselected.
  • Assign the emission point an Online Store uses for the invoices that are generated automatically for orders coming from that channel.
  • Get recorded directly on the transactions (invoices and other documents) issued from that point.

If your company issues every document from a single place, you can keep working with just one Emission Point (or even without using this field on your documents); the catalog only becomes essential once you need to tell several emission sources apart.

How to use it

  1. Open Emission Points and review the existing list (Description, Code and Subsidiary columns); you can search by any of those three values.
  2. Click New to create an emission point: enter a clear Description (for example the branch or channel name), and optionally a short Code and internal notes.
  3. If your company has subsidiaries enabled, select which subsidiary this emission point belongs to; that field becomes required in that case.
  4. Save the record. From that point on, the emission point is available to pick on Fiscal Sequences, on a user's record, on an Online Store's configuration, or directly on a transaction.
  5. To edit or delete an emission point, open it from the list (Details screen) and use the Edit or Delete buttons.

Main capabilities

  • A simple emission-point catalog, searchable by Description, Code or Subsidiary.
  • List column customization (show or hide Notes, reorder visible columns) with your own saved configuration.
  • Automatic filtering by subsidiary when your company has them enabled: each user only sees the emission points of the subsidiary they're currently working in.
  • Protection against deletions that would break other records (see validations below).

Key fields

Field What it's for
DescriptionThe name you identify the emission point by (required and unique; it cannot repeat an existing emission point's name).
CodeAn optional short identifier, useful for reports or integrations where you'd rather use a brief value instead of the full name.
NotesFree-form internal remarks about the emission point; not shown on the list by default, but you can turn it on from the column customization.
SubsidiaryThe subsidiary this emission point belongs to; required only if your company has subsidiaries enabled.

Validations when saving

  • Description is required and must differ from every other emission point already registered.
  • Subsidiary is required if your company has subsidiaries enabled; if you don't have them, the field doesn't apply.
  • You can't delete an emission point that's already in use. Before removing it, AdmCloud checks that it has no: transactions issued under that point, linked Fiscal Sequences, users who have it set as their default emission point, or Online Stores that use it to auto-invoice orders. If it finds any, it shows exactly which records are using it instead of deleting it.

Availability and permissions

  • Viewing, creating, editing or deleting emission points requires the "Configuration" permission on your user group, within the System Administration module.
  • The Subsidiary field only appears and is required when your company has subsidiaries enabled.

Tips and common mistakes

💡

Create one emission point per actual issuing location, not per document type. A single emission point can have several Fiscal Sequences (one for invoices, another for credit notes, and so on), but it represents one single place of origin.

⚠️

Can't delete an emission point? Check the error message: it tells you exactly which transactions, fiscal sequences, users or online stores are still using it. Reassign or remove those dependencies first.

ℹ️

Not using subsidiaries? You can ignore the Subsidiary field entirely; the catalog works the same way with a single emission point for the whole company.
