Landed Cost Detailed Report
This report rebuilds, reception by reception and item by item, the real landed cost of your imported goods: the FOB price paid to the vendor plus every import expense (freight, insurance, customs, port handling, etc.) you spread onto it through its Landed Cost Code, so you know exactly what each item ended up costing once it reached your warehouse.
What is it and what is it for?
When you import goods, an item's real cost is almost never just the vendor bill's price: it also includes freight, insurance, customs duties and other charges that are billed separately. In AdmCloud, those expenses are grouped per shipment under a Landed Cost Code and are spread across the received items when you create the Reception. This report is how you audit and review the result of that calculation.
For every received item line, the report shows:
- The FOB price paid to the vendor (a weighted average, if the same item arrived on more than one bill for that reception).
- The amount allocated from each expense category posted against that reception (freight, insurance, customs, etc.), one column per category.
- The Settled Cost per unit: FOB plus the sum of every expense category.
- The Extended Cost: the settled cost multiplied by the received quantity.
At the end of each reception, the report adds a row with the total settled cost of everything received on that document. It also shows the item's configured sales price so you can compare, at a glance, the real margin once import expenses are included.
It is a read-only report: you cannot edit amounts or recalculate costs from here. The expenses it spreads come from what you already recorded on Vendor Bills and on the Reception through the matching Landed Cost Code.
How to use it
- Open the report from Reports > Inventory > Landed Cost Detailed Report (or from the inventory panel shortcut on your home page).
- Enter the date range of the receptions you want to review (it comes with a default range) and, to narrow it further, optionally choose a Subsidiary, Location, Landed Cost Code, Item Class, Item or Brand.
- Click Refresh. Until you do, the screen only asks you to set the filters; the report does not load data automatically so it doesn't run a heavy query for no reason.
- Review the table: it's grouped by Reception, and inside each one there's a row per item (or per item/vendor-bill combination, if it arrived split across more than one bill).
- Click on the reception number, the Landed Cost Code name, the item or an expense-category column header to jump straight to that record.
- Use your browser's print button to get a printed copy with your company name and generation date in the header.
Main capabilities
- Dynamic expense columns: the report automatically adds one column per expense category (Freight, Insurance, Customs, etc.) that actually has amounts in the filtered receptions; each header links to that category's card.
- Weighted-average FOB price when an item from one reception was linked to more than one vendor bill, showing each price and exchange rate separately.
- Per-reception subtotal: a closing row with the total settled cost of everything received on that document.
- Filter by Landed Cost Code to audit one shipment at a time without mixing it with others.
- Reference sales price per item, to compare margin against the already-settled cost.
- Interactive table (search, sort and page) once the data loads.

How the result is calculated
Being a read-only report, it has no save-time validations; still, it helps to know where each number comes from so you can trust it:
- The date range is required (the report ships with a default one) and filters by the Reception's date, not by the expense bills' dates.
- The FOB price only considers already-recorded, non-voided Vendor Bills and Vendor Receptions for that item on that reception.
- An expense category only shows an amount once you've posted, against that same reception, an accounting entry tagged with that category (for example, when recording the freight bill with its Landed Cost Code). If an import expense is still missing, that line's settled cost will still be incomplete.
Availability, permissions and conditions
- Part of the Inventory module's Landed Costs, available from the Standard plan onward (not on Billing, Start or Basic).
- This report's link in the Reports menu only shows up when your company has the Advanced Inventory module active (available on the Enterprise edition) and the feature is enabled for your account.
- Access is controlled with the Item Costs permission of your user group; you need at least the browse level.
Tips and common mistakes
Filter by one Landed Cost Code at a time when reviewing a specific shipment: it keeps you from mixing that import's cost with another one that arrived around the same dates.
A lower-than-expected settled cost almost always means an expense is still missing for that shipment (freight, insurance or customs) against its Landed Cost Code; check that shipment's Vendor Bills first before assuming the cost is already complete.
